Vision Jet SOE & Pilot Mentoring

Build Experience. Fly With Confidence.

Completing your Vision Jet type rating is an exciting milestone, but it’s only the beginning of becoming a confident and capable SF50 pilot.

Vision Jet Support offers personalized Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) and pilot mentoring designed around your aircraft, schedule, and flying goals.

Whether you’re completing your initial supervised operating experience or simply want another experienced Vision Jet pilot alongside you, our approach focuses on practical, real-world flying.

SF50 mentoring may include

  • Supervised Operating Experience (SOE)
  • Post-type-rating mentoring
  • Cross-country flying experience
  • Real-world IFR operations
  • Flight planning and decision-making
  • Aircraft systems and automation familiarization
  • Single-pilot operational readiness
  • Confidence building in challenging operating environments

Real trips, not repetitive training routes

SOE doesn’t have to mean flying the same pattern for 25 hours. Plan the flights you actually want to take, such as a family weekend, a business trip, or a run to a favorite destination, and log the experience along the way. Real weather, real airspace, and real decisions make the time more useful and a lot more enjoyable.

How SOE works for the SF50

If your SF50 type rating checkride was completed entirely in a simulator, your pilot certificate may carry a pilot-in-command limitation for the SF50. Supervised operating experience is how new Vision Jet pilots work through it: 25 hours of flight time in the SF50, flown while you perform the duties of pilot in command, with an SF50 type-rated pilot in command observing and attesting to each flight in your logbook. When the time is complete, you present the record to an examiner or FAA Flight Standards office to have the limitation removed.

Many insurers also set their own mentor or supervised-time requirements for new Vision Jet pilots. We’re happy to work with your broker so the same flights can serve both purposes where your policy allows.

Experience, not instruction. SOE with Vision Jet Support is flown with an SF50 type-rated owner-pilot, subject to applicable FAA requirements and your insurer’s approval. It is supervised operating experience and mentoring, not flight instruction, type-rating training, or checkride preparation.

FAQ

Questions about SOE & Pilot Mentoring

Do I need SOE after my Vision Jet type rating?

Only if your certificate carries the SF50 pilot-in-command limitation, which is typically issued when the practical test was completed entirely in a simulator. Check the limitations section of your pilot certificate. Your insurer may also require supervised or mentor time regardless of the FAA limitation.

How many hours of SOE are required?

Removing the SF50 pilot-in-command limitation requires 25 hours of flight time in the SF50, performing the duties of pilot in command while observed by a qualified SF50 pilot in command, subject to applicable FAA requirements. Insurance requirements are set separately by your underwriter.

Are you a certified flight instructor?

No. Vision Jet Support focuses on supervised operating experience, pilot mentoring, and aircraft support services rather than formal flight instruction.
